The BLCP 1400MW power station is located at the southern edge of Map Ta Phut Port and is constructed on reclaimed land. The facility is supplied with coal using vessels up to 170,000 dwt Cape-size.
SMC were responsible for the site investigation, design and specification, tender assistance and supervision of the dredging and reclamation works. These works included 2 million cubic metres of silt dredging, 4 million cubic meters of channel dredging and the resulting reclamation of approximately 33ha for construction of the power plant.
Following completion of these maritime works, SMC were then engaged by CLPI to work within their management team and to take responsibility for project management of the civil engineering works, including the coal unloading jetty.
