PTT GC, the client, required an extension to Jetty No 2 at PTTGC-7 as a new jetty to handle the import of propane gas.
 
SMC’s responsibilities covered a preliminary study to ascertain the best layout for the extension and subsequently the detailed design of the new jetty, which included the following: 

• Review of existing data and undertake site survey to assess interface between the extension of the new jetty , topside piping and other relevant connections
• Establishing vessel range and characteristics
• Preparation of options for layout
• Hydrographic survey
• Metocean & seismic study
• Mooring analysis and optimisation of jetty layout and berth orientation
• Ship simulation
• Weather down-time study
• Preliminary layout and soil investigation based on selected layout
• Preparation of design criteria, calculations, detailed design and specifications
• Preparation of bills of quantities and cost estimation
• Assistance with preparation of Issue To Bid Documents including contractor’s scope of work, construction schedule
• Assistance in selection of bidders and technical evaluation of the bids
