PTT LNG Receiving Terminal Phase II
Map Ta Phut Industrial Port, Thailand
The Client required the expansion of their existing liquid natural gas receiving terminal at Map Ta Phut, for which SMC had provided consultancy services.  Phase II included the design of a new jetty, approach trestle, dolphins and all other associated elements.

SMC, in association with Tokyo Gas Engineering Company Limited, provided FEED and consultancy services for the maritime works of this extension. Tasks also involved a review of the existing facility and assessment of compatibility with the design objectives of Phase II, designing the demolition works of and interface with the existing marine works, cost estimate, tender documentation and procedures of the technical aspects in the form of a report to the client.

SMC also undertook a study of PTT LNG’s Jetty and IEAT’s port approach channel utilisation/occupation, based on 7 scenarios and 3 types of carrier in order to optimise the new design.
