The Client required the expansion of their LPG terminal at Khao Bo Ya with 2 new berths, an intermediate platform, access trestle, pipe rack support structures, breasting and mooring dolphins as well as modifications to the existing berth.
SMC, in conjunction with Samsung C&T Corporation and Italian Thai Development PLC, undertook a review of the EPC tender design, a design check of the existing berth approach bridge structure to accommodate loading from a new overhead pipe rack, and provided the detail design to all new and revised structures.
Under a separate contract SMC also provided the structural design of 13 onshore ancillary buildings and structures, the largest of which measured over 1000m2.
