The client required the extension of their existing berth by 650m to the north, which is used to receive containers and general/bulk cargo. This included the removal of the existing dolphin and construction of a new one, construction of new berth platform of 650m x 54m construction of a new approach bridge connect to shore some 2,800m long and readjustment of appropriate utilities.  The client also required the purchase of berthing fenders, supply and installation of crane rails, supply and implementation of additional HV power supplies to container gantry cranes. 
 
SMC provided the detail design for this extension and advised the client during the tender process and selection of the contractor then provided project management services and supervised the construction on site. SMC also prepared specifications and drawings for the fender procurement and crane rail works.
